Step 2: Edit Biography
After the editor has loaded, head over to the left sidebar and click on > > > to edit our name and social links:
Name
- In the field, add your full name or nickname, and include your title (e.g. Prof) if you wish
- In the and fields, add your first and last names in order to help search engines find your site
- In the optional field, either write the pronunciation of your name or set it to nothing
- For example, if you have a Chinese name, you can write your name in Chinese in the field and write the pinyin version of your name in the field
Status
- Set an optional status emoji in the field - you can use your emoji keyboard or copy an emoji. The status emoji can be displayed next to your profile picture on the homepage.
Job
- The field will display under your name on the homepage. Set it to anything you like, such as
- Set the optional field to your current place of work or education - this will display under your name on the homepage
Interests
Optionally, add a list of your , such as research topics or passions, to display them on the homepage.

How do I add a biography?
As with most information on IMDb, Mini biographies are usually created and submitted by users just like you!
However, if a person doesn't have a specially written bio, we automatically generateone using any available information already listed on their pages, for example:
If the biography is automated, clicking on the 'Edit Page' option and selecting the 'Biography' category won't bring up any data to update.
Instead, if you submit a new manual biography to the page, once processed/approved, it'll replace the existing auto-generated entry on the page.
Instructions
- Go to that person's page.
- Click on the Edit page button towards the bottom.
- Next to the Biography option click the drop down and select Add 1 Item.
- Scroll to the bottom of the page and select Continue.
- Input the new biography into the field, making sure it's in line with our Mini-Biography guidelines.
- Please be sure to add an author in the By: field.

Can I delete my biography?
It is our policy not to remove biographies in their entirety, unless we first receive an updated or amended version. However, if you are aware of inaccuracies or breaches of policy contained within an existing biography and bring them to our attention, we will investigate and if appropriate, remove or amend the items.
Please note that replacing a biography that fits our guidelines and contains a good deal of background information with one containing almost no interesting information will be considered the same as attempting to delete a biography.
How can I update my biography?
A name page can only list a single biography, however we welcome updates and corrections to keep these current. Please be aware that if a person does not have a specially written bio, we will automatically generate one using any other available information or credits already listed on their pages. More information on the auto-generated biographies can be found here. These will not appear as items to correct, therefor
