Nick Pope Biography

Author, journalist and broadcaster Nick Pope worked for the British Government for 21 years, at the Ministry of Defence. In the course of his career he served in a wide variety of posts, but is best known for work that he did between 1991 and 1994 when he ran the MoD’s UFO project. He is recognised as one of the world’s leading authorities on the unexplained, conspiracy theories, sci-fi and fringe science.

Nick Pope is the best-selling author of four books: one on UFOs, one on alien abductions and two sci-fi novels. He also writes for a wide range of newspapers including The Times, The Guardian, The Sun and The New York Times. He contributes regularly to various TV and radio news programmes, chat shows and documentaries, with appearances on shows including Newsnight, Radio 4’s Today programme, Sky News, Blue Peter, Good Morning America and Larry King Live.

Nicholas David Pope, also known as Nick Pope is Burnley’s current number one keeper and has been with the Clarets since 2016. Early Life 

Pope was born in Soham, Cambridge, and had a season ticket where he spent his youth career at Ipswich Town, up until he was released at the age of 16. 

After being released, he joined non-league club Bury Town where he made debut at 16. The former Ipswich youth talent proved his ability at this level and wore the number-one shirt for numerous first-team matches in his late teens. Nicholas David Pope (born 19 April 1992) is an English professional footballer who plays as a goalkeeper for Premier League club Newcastle United and the England national team.

Pope started his career in Ipswich Town's youth teams and after being released aged 16, he joined Bury Town. He signed for League One club Charlton Athletic in May 2011, before having loan spells with Harrow Borough, Welling United, Cambridge United, Aldershot Town, York City and Bury. In July 2016, Pope joined Premier League club Burnley, where he remained until the club's relegation in May 2022, after which he signed for Newcastle the following month.

In 2018, Pope made his debut for the England national team, and has been a member of the 2018 FIFA World Cup and 2022 FIFA World Cup squads.

Early life

Nicholas David Pope[4] was born on 19 April 1992[5] in Soham, Cambridgeshire.[6] He attended St Andrew's Primary School in Soham and was in the same class as murdered schoolgirls Holly Wells and Jessica Chapman.
