Jean-Marc Généreux is a Canadian dancer, choreographer and television judge, known for his work on the show “Dancing with the Stars”. Born on December 14, 1962 in Montreal, Quebec, he is the son of Lionel Généreux, an engineer, and Jacqueline Bélanger, a stay-at-home mother. His father, Lionel, is the son of Georges Généreux, a farmer, and Marie-Ange Dufresne. The Généreux family comes from the Charlevoix region of Quebec, and Jean-Marc has great pride in his family roots. On the side of his mother, Jacqueline Bélanger, Jean-Marc Généreux comes from a family of French origin. His mother is the daughter of Marcel Bélanger, a baker, and Madeleine Leblanc.

Jean-Marc Généreux (/ʒɑ̃-maʁk ʒeneʁø/; born December 25, 1962) is a French Canadian ballroom dance champion, choreographer and television personality from Longueuil, Quebec, Canada. He is most prominently known for his roles as judge and choreographer on the American and Canadian versions of So You Think You Can Dance, the French version of the hit television series Dancing with the Stars, and TVA’s hit dance competition series Révolution.

Biography

Généreux met his partner and wife, France Mousseau, when they went to elementary school together. At a young age, he joined the dance school "École de Danse Loisirs Galaxia Inc."
