Esmael adibi biography

Born in Iran, Dr. Adibi received his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Tehran, then moved to the U.S., where he pursued an MBA in business.
Esmael Adibi, a Chapman University professor and a respected economic forecaster, died Friday after suffering complications from a stroke.
Adibi was born in Iran and is survived by his wife Jila, a son and daughter, and two grandchildren.

These casual brain storming gatherings continued and evolved to nightly weekly meetings usually at the office of Computer Research Center (CRC}, next to OC Airport, belonging to two engineer brothers, Yousef and Kazem Alinaghian, who after 30 years still are active Board members of NIPOC, Network of Iranian-American Professionals of Orange County., (please see the founding members in the NIPOC website.)

By the spring of 1987, NIPOC began accepting members through applications, prepared and presented its first constitution and bylaws and started its regular monthly general meetings on the first Thursdays of each month, the tradition that still, more or less, is being practiced.

Members were requested to complete the membership application and every MEMBERS HAD TO CHOOSE & MAKE COMMITMENTS TO JOIN AND BECOME ACTIVE IN ONE OF THESE THREE COMMITTEES: BUSINESS, SOCIAL AND CAREER. In other words, the main philosophy of the original organizers was of only recruiting active members and try to avoid as it is said in Farsi “Seeyahi-e Lashgar”.

In 1978, he became a member of the Chapman faculty, and in 1985, he was named head of the A. Gary Anderson Center for Economic Research. Macroeconomics, financial markets, and regional economics are among his research interests. Econometric Analysis - An Applications Approach and The Practice of Econometrics with EViews are two textbooks co-authored by Dr. Adibi. His work has appeared in publications such as The Los Angeles Times and the Orange County Register, as well as professional journals including International Advances in Economic Research, the Journal of Private Enterprise, and the Quarterly Journal of Business and Economics. Dr. Adibi is the Association for University Business and Economic Research's former president. He is a member of the Western Blue Chip Economic Forecast Panel and the NABE Outlook Survey Panel. He is a member of the OCTFCU Mortgage Company's board of directors.
