Nagavara Ramarao Narayana Murthy (born 20 August 1946) is an Indian billionaire businessman. He is one of the seven co-founders of Infosys,[6] and was the chairman, chief executive officer (CEO), president, and chief mentor[7] of the company before retiring and becoming chairman emeritus.[8][9][10] As of January 2025, his net worth was estimated at US$5.0 billion, according to Forbes.[11] Murthy is the father-in-law of Rishi Sunak, who was Prime Minister of the United Kingdom from 2022 to 2024.
Murthy was born and raised in Shidlaghatta, Karnataka. He first worked at the Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad, as chief systems programmer, and Patni Computer Systems in Pune, Maharashtra. Narayan Murthy is an Indian businessman. He is famous as a co-founder of India's one of the biggest IT company Infosys. He is the Non-Executive Chairman and Chief Mentor of Infosys Technologies Limited. He is a living legend and an epitome of the fact that honesty, transparency, and moral integrity are not at variance with business acumen.
He was born on 20 August, 1946 in Mysore,Karnataka. His full name is Nagavara Ramaroa Narayana Murthy. He was born in a middle class family to Sri R H Kulkarni and Vimala Kulkarni.
He married to Sudha Murthy. Sudha Murthy is an author and social worker. They have a son Rohan and a daughter Akshata.

Mr. Murthy founded Infosys in 1981. Infosys is, today, a highly innovative software services global company listed on NYSE in the US and on the Bombay Stock Exchange in Mumbai.
Mr. Murthy conceptualized, articulated, and implemented the Global Delivery Model (GDM) which has become the backbone of the Indian software industry. GDM is based on collaborative distributed software development principles and has resulted in the delivery of superior quality software to global customers delivered on time and within budget. Mr. Murthy also introduced the concept of a 24-hour workday, to the world.
Under Mr. Murthy’s leadership, Infosys became the leader in innovation - in technical, managerial and leadership training, software technology, quality, productivity, customer focus, employee satisfaction, and physical and technological infrastructure.
