Melanie Wilson (rower)
British rower
Melanie Wilson (born 25 June 1984) is a British rower who competed for the GB rowing team.[2][3] At the 2012 Summer Olympics, she competed in the Women's quadruple sculls.[4][5] At the 2016 Summer Olympics she won a silver medal in the women's eight.
Biography
Born in Southampton, Wilson spent her early years in Japan and Hong Kong before moving to the UK in 2002 to take an honours degree in Biochemistry and Genetics at the University of Nottingham.[3] She was educated at Island School in Hong Kong.[6][7] After graduating she spent 6 months in Kilifi, Kenya working on research into malaria under the KEMRI-Wellcome Trust Research Programme.[3] In 2007, she completed a master's degree in Biochemical Engineering at UCL before enrolling in Imperial College London to sit for a post-graduate degree in medicine.[8] After she was selected to join the GB Rowing team she suspended her medical studies in 2010 to focus on competing for a place in a GB

Melanie Wilson has enjoyed over twenty years working in the arts. She began working in the visual arts at the Serpentine Gallery, the Anthony d’Offay Gallery and the V&A, and continues to work on the Live Performance and Film Programme at Tate Modern on a freelance basis. From 2000 to 2010 Melanie worked in the Classical Music Projects team and Artistic Programming team at the Southbank Centre programming their own promotion music season. Some of the highlights were the composer curated two week festivals, Sir Harrison Birtwistle and Sir Maxwell Davies amongst others, the World Voice festival of choirs from around the world, the Simon Bolivar Youth Orchestra’s week long residency under Gustavo Dudamel as well working with other resident artists at the South Bank including the Takacs Quartet and the Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra under Mariss Jansons. Developing Song on the Southbank with the Head of Music, Amelia Freedman, CBE, was a wonderful opportunity to programme recitals with Jessye Norman, Willard White, Dame Kiri Te Kanawa, Dimitri Hvorostov

Melanie Wilson is an American actress. Best known as Jennifer in Perfect Strangers (1986-1993)
Career
Wilson is best known for her co-starring role as Jennifer Lyons-Appleton in the ABC sitcom Perfect Strangers.[1] Her other television credits include Family Matters, Step by Step, Simon & Simon and The A-Team. She did a week of The $100,000 Pyramid in 1988.
In 2009, she appeared in the Lifetime Television network film Prayers for Bobby.
Personal life
She is the daughter of actor Dick Wilson, the former commercial spokesman ("Mr. Whipple") for Charmin bathroom tissue.[citation needed]
